Weightloss Tips

Weight loss tips that don't involve a pill, excercise, or counting calories (at least not really)

-Don’t eat while watching television: t.v. viewing can make you take in 40% more calories than you normally would

-Do something that will distract you when a craving hits: call a friend, listen to music, whatever will distract you for five minutes (the length of time a craving typically lasts)

-Eat a carb/protein rich breakfast. It will keep blood-sugar levels steady and hunger pangs at bay.

-Eating early in the day keeps us from "starvation eating" later on. But it also jump-starts your metabolism. When you don't eat breakfast, you're actually fasting for 15 to 20 hours, so you're not producing the enzymes needed to metabolize fat to lose weight.

Ask yourself....
-Am I hungry? (If unsure, wait 20 minutes and ask yourself again)
-When was the last time I ate? (If it's less than three hours, it may not be real hunger)
-Could a small snack tide me over until the next meal? (Have ready-to-eat fruits or vegetables on hand for this)

-Snacking between meals is okay. But do it smartly. Satisfying a craving with HEALTHY grubbing is better than binge eating on junk-food
-stick of string cheese
-tablespoon of peanut butter on a piece of fruit
-handful of nuts

-Cut back on the alcohol. They contain hundreds of calories that only increase your hunger. If you need a drink, stick with a glass of wine, light bear or vodka. These drinks usually have about 100 calories per serving.

-Eat fruit twice a day. Fruit has no fat and mostly water. It’s fill you up while leaving less room for you stomach. Plus contains healthy fiber (good for cleaning out your digestive system)

-Get plenty of sleep. Well rested people are less prone to snacking out of fatigue or stress.

-If you drink whole milk, switch to 2% milk. I did it awhile back, there is no drastic difference in taste (in my opinion). Soon whole milk will seem to thick, well it did for me;-)
