Hair Experiment: L'Oreal Excellence HiColor Intense Red

After a hectic couple of months, I decided to change it up a bit. However, I do like to kept it a little in my comfort zone. Once again, I visited the hair color aisle at Sally's Beauty Supply and picked up another box of red hair coloring. I asked the sales associate what is the best hair dye for my dark hair without bleaching. After telling her some of the hair dyes I had used before , she recommended L'Oreal Excellence HiColor Intense Red for dark hair with a 30 volume developer. I used two boxes of the hair color because the past has taught me that one box is never enough. My hair tends to absorb anything placed on it quickly, hence why my hair tends to dry up so fast after a wash. I was a little bit intimidated by the bright red color of the dye. Married, Pregnant, and Single

So for the past week, I have been in training for my new job. It is five weeks long and a complete drag. However, the other women in my class amuse me and I do my share in keeping others entertained. However, y'all don't care about my training class, so I will move on. On my first day of class, it was brought to my attention that about 90% of the women in my class were either pregnant, had kids, married, divorced, or a combination of the previous. What threw me off was the fact that about half of those were around my age or younger. It is slowly becoming a bit of an annoyance listening to these women talk about their husbands and children when I am stuck in my state of lonely nights or the permenant transition from single to not so single (long story). Though being the single/childless woman amongst those who aren't so lonely sucks, it is the ages that fascinate me. I am only 22 and feel like I have barely cracked into adulthood. Chemical Burns, Walmart Salons, and Crappy Customer Service

Prior to moving to Kentucky, I decided it would be a good idea to get one more relaxer. While I probably could of gone a bit longer before I had my hair relaxed, I preceded to go to the hair salon. Unfortunately, I left with serious regret. Trying to find someone "good" to do my hair seemed like I was asking for too much out of life. Not to offend, but my experience with hairdressers, specifically blacks ones, left me afraid to get attached since too often they would be in the wind before I knew it. It took me over 4 years to find a hair dresser who wouldn't burn me or do a horrific job when I was in college. When I returned home, I was happy to find a new girl named Whitney at the Family Style salon in Walmart. Hawaii Life: Morning Glass Coffee + Cafe

Morning Glass Coffee + Cafe was mentioned to me by some attendees at my last mommy and me coffee event. They suggested I check it out if I ever wanted my business to expand to a brick and mortar shop. The shop is located further than I expected and hidden away (at least in my opinion) in more of a neighborhood setting as opposed to downtown like I assumed. They have two locations, one is located in a home decor store called Fishcake and the other is located on East Manoa Road. Fishcake location (picture from Morning Glass Website) We visited the East Manoa location (obviously) and I was immediately excited. It is in a small shopping plaza, perfect for the smaller nature of the shop. I always love seeing the handwritten chalk menus at coffee shops. There is no real reason other than it makes it feel like more of a personal place as opposed to a corporate one.
