Gotta Vent

Hey y'all! So I know I have been MIA and will probably still remain that way for another week thanks to my old roommate being unable to return my calls (long story). But I wanted to vent a little. I recently started dating someone. While it is feels so weird for me to call someone a boyfriend again, the idea of me being in a relationship is not lost upon those from my past or friends currently in my life. While I could go on and on about how weird this transition has been, I wanted to talk about women. It is amusing to me how a woman can completely disregard and disrespect a man's girlfriend for her own bullshit reason. I don't understand why you want a man to cheat on his woman with you? Wish List Wednesday 10/4/17

It seems like the only posts I can push out before my internet decides to betray me are my wish lists. However, I have a few posts I am working on and will have the up this week. Also, if you weren't aware, the link to all of these products are in the subheadings if not in the description. With that said, let's get started on this week's wish list... Lucky Break Olive Oversized Jacket from Lulus I stumbled across this jacket on my Pinterest feed and immediately fell in love. First off, my favorite color is green (in most shades) and I love a good jacket. With us moving back to the mainland, where there are actual seasons, I am excited for layers. I love the fact that when you scroll to the bottom of the page, there is a detailed description of size. Even better, the reviews that show the buyer's measurements so you can compare. Wish List Wednesday 9/6/17

It is Wednesday and my wish list has only grown. With a move on the horizon, quite a few of my upcoming wishes involve activities and places in Hawaii. Now let's kick of my wish list for the week! Staycation at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa Aulani is located in Ko'Olina, about 20 minutes from my house. Now you may ask why this is on my wish list when I already reside in "paradise" and this place is only a short drive from my home? It is simple: Aulani is a nice break from reality. The view is gorgeous and they are known for their amazing pool, which is like a mini water park. I want to experience as much of the tourist side of Hawaii as I can while on the island and staying in a nice hotel is one. The price is a bit high, hence why this is on my wish list. We have done the character buffet breakfast a couple of times, now I want to take a little "staycation" there. They offer cheaper week day rates on their rooms, ...

Dove Fails Again.....Or Did They?

Unless you are fortunate enough to live under a rock, I am sure you have seen the latest racial controversy brought to us by Dove. A couple of days ago, the above picture frequently popped up in my news feed on Facebook. From this picture alone, it is easy to tell why many black people would be outraged. It looks as if washing yourself with Dove body wash will turn you from a "dirty" black woman to a "clean" white woman. I mean seriously......WHAT THE FUCK!? The controversy only seemed to gain momentum when people dug up an old ad from 2011. The ad was supposed to show the before and after of one's skin when using their product Visiblecare Creme Body Wash. Unfortunately, people felt that the order of the women (black, latina, and white) was some sort of subliminal message from the company about ethnic skin. Dupe List: MAC's Ambering Rose and Lorac's Hollywood

So I went by the MAC counter today looking for Dolly Mix. Unfortunately, they were sold out so I just lingered around to see if anything else caught my eye. I picked up several but was instantly drawn to one, Ambering Rose. It was beautiful. Almost as if NARS Taj Mahal and MAC Coopertone could have a baby, then Ambering Rose would be the offspring. It is a beautiful burnt orange/brown color with shimmer. Very flattering for darker skin tones. But once I got in the car, I started to realize the swatch on my hand looked really familiar. Then it hit me, it looked a lot like Lorac's Hollywood blush. As soon as I got home, I pulled the Lorac blush out of it's draw and swatched it. The two looked too close. Hollywood has a bit of a more brassy orange color to it than Ambering Rose, but at certain angles...........they might as well be the same. Wish List Wednesday 10/11/17

Follow my blog with Bloglovin It has been an interesting week thus far. Some ups and downs but I have made it to another Wednesday. A few things have sparked my interests this week, so here is what I am wishing for: Notched Collar Plaid Skirt Coat I mentioned last week that I love a good coat. So of course with fall being here and a move on the horizon, I have been looking at more fall/winter items. This particular coat popped up on my Pinterest feed. Before we moved, I had a plaid coat that I left behind at my parents house. I later found out that my mother got rid of it. Needless to say, I was less than pleased with the news. But I love the design of this jacket and the price is pretty nice. Unfortunately, it seems there is only a limited quantity and my current body measurements don't fit into the available sizes. So maybe this will make it into my shopping cart once I drop some of this Hawaii weight. ...
