After a hectic couple of months, I decided to change it up a bit. However, I do like to kept it a little in my comfort zone. Once again, I visited the hair color aisle at Sally's Beauty Supply and picked up another box of red hair coloring. I asked the sales associate what is the best hair dye for my dark hair without bleaching. After telling her some of the hair dyes I had used before , she recommended L'Oreal Excellence HiColor Intense Red for dark hair with a 30 volume developer. I used two boxes of the hair color because the past has taught me that one box is never enough. My hair tends to absorb anything placed on it quickly, hence why my hair tends to dry up so fast after a wash. I was a little bit intimidated by the bright red color of the dye. Dupe List: MAC's Ambering Rose and Lorac's Hollywood

So I went by the MAC counter today looking for Dolly Mix. Unfortunately, they were sold out so I just lingered around to see if anything else caught my eye. I picked up several but was instantly drawn to one, Ambering Rose. It was beautiful. Almost as if NARS Taj Mahal and MAC Coopertone could have a baby, then Ambering Rose would be the offspring. It is a beautiful burnt orange/brown color with shimmer. Very flattering for darker skin tones. But once I got in the car, I started to realize the swatch on my hand looked really familiar. Then it hit me, it looked a lot like Lorac's Hollywood blush. As soon as I got home, I pulled the Lorac blush out of it's draw and swatched it. The two looked too close. As I sit here to type this review, I can feel exhaustion coming down on me hard. The joys of being a wife and mom means despite that feeling, I still have to cook dinner and give my son his final bottle (because he never wants to act right with my husband for bed time). Dove Fails Again.....Or Did They?

Unless you are fortunate enough to live under a rock, I am sure you have seen the latest racial controversy brought to us by Dove. A couple of days ago, the above picture frequently popped up in my news feed on Facebook. From this picture alone, it is easy to tell why many black people would be outraged. It looks as if washing yourself with Dove body wash will turn you from a "dirty" black woman to a "clean" white woman. I mean seriously......WHAT THE FUCK!? The controversy only seemed to gain momentum when people dug up an old ad from 2011. The ad was supposed to show the before and after of one's skin when using their product Visiblecare Creme Body Wash. Unfortunately, people felt that the order of the women (black, latina, and white) was some sort of subliminal message from the company about ethnic skin. Empties: Lush's R&B Hair Moisturizer

A couple of months back, I decided to take my friend Dorian to our local Lush store. I've been curious to try some of their products lately, so I figured why not make it part of our day out. I scanned the shelves and counters looking for a product to try but I am not going to lie, the prices humbled my spending desire. Initially, I settled on the H'Suan Wen Hua for my hair, but after speaking with the sales associate I decided to go with the R&B Hair Moisturizer . According to the website , it is supposed to "revive and balance misbehaving hair." So I used the R&B for my twist outs after washing my hair and applying leave-in conditioner. Now, I won't lie, $25.95 for only 3.5 ounces was hard to swallow. I mean seriously, I feel like I have too much hair for that! When I did use the product I used it sparingly.
